The CarmAl Extruder is a universal paste extruder for use in 3D printing. Its name stands for; Carbohydrate Additive Rapid Manufacturing Aluminum Extruder. As it's name implies it was initially designed for extrusion and rapid deposition of Carbohydrate. (Sugar) Based on the BaricUDA from Jordan Miller at the University of Pennsylvania and the earlier open source paste extruder known as the Frostruder MKII. CarmAl allows for safe, modular, and precise printing of Carbohydrates and other viscous substances.
The University of Alabama in Huntsville holds the patent for CarmAl but offers complete access for non-commercial use through Creative Commons patent tools. Click below to start using the CarmAl extruder for your own projects today!
